Should you apply for a 1st Degree Lisence or a 2nd Degree License? Find out on this page

If this is your first time applying for an Incitement license, then you can only apply for a 1st Degree Single-Event License. If you have organized 3 or more Incitement events you can apply for a 2nd Degree Annual License, or an 1st Degree Annual License.

Overview of license types

1st Degree Single-Event License

If this is your first time applying for a license, then you have to apply for Incitement’s 1st Degree License. This license allows you to organize 1 event:

  • One-off Incitement event (free), or
  • One-off University event (free), and
  • Gatherings (free)

Eligibility

You can only apply for a 1st Degree Incitement License if you are 18 years or older.

Validity

Your Incitement Event license is valid for 6 month from the date of its approval.

Transferability

Incitement licenses are non-transferable. You can not transfer your Incitement license to any other person.

Location

Your Incitement events must happen at the same location for which your license got approved.

Licensee

If you are the licensee, you are the lead organizer of the Incitement event which requires you to know all the rules, regulations, and guidelines process in order to put on a great Incitement event.

Attendees

The maximum amount of attendees at your Incitement event should be 100 people. You can apply for a 2nd Degree License after you have successfully organized 3 (three) Incitement events within a time span of 1,5 (one and a half) year.

Length

Your Incitement Event may not exceed 5 (five) hours in length.

Fundraising/ crowdfunding

You are allowed to raise funds for your event via Project Pie only. You can only raise a maximum of 500 (Five Hundred) US Dollars. All funds raised must go back into organizing the event.

Team

Your team must consist of volunteers only. You may not hire any people for any aspect of your Incitement Event. The exception to this would be the production team, which only includes pre- and post-production for photography and videography, and only if you are unable to get volunteers for this role.

The Gathering

Your 1st Degree License allows you to organize 1 Gathering before your Incitement event and 1 Gathering after your Incitement event. Click here to know more about The Gathering. The same rules, regulations, and guidelines apply on all Gathering events.

Admission

You cannot charge an admission fee, or any other form of compensation upon entrance. All Incitement events organized with a 1st Degree License should be free.

Opportunities

After having successfully organized a minimum of 3 Incitement events within a time span of 1 year, you will be eligible to apply for the 1st Degree Annual License.

1st Degree Annual License

If you are have successfully applied for 3 (three) 1st Degree Single-Event Licenses within a time span of 18 months, you become eligible to apply for a 2nd Degree Annual License which includes many benefits for you as an organizer. However, alternatively you may also apply for a 1st Degree Annual License.

The 1st Degree Annual License allows you to organize as many Incitement Events as you would like for 18 months. This means that you do not have to apply for a license every time you want to organize an Incitement Event. If you successfully get a 1st Degree Annual License, you will have to commit to organizing a minimum of 4 events within a time span of 1 year starting from the date of your License approval.

The same requirements that apply for a 1st Degree Single-Event License apply for a 1st Degree Annual License. The only difference is the validity. The validity of a 1st Degree Annual License is 1 year from the date of the approval of the license.

2nd Degree Annual License

If you have successfully applied for 3 (three) 1st Degree licenses previously within a time span of 18 months and you would like to organize IncitementEvents regularly, then you can apply for Incitement’s 2nd Degree License where you can organize monthly or bi-monthly Incitement Events. To apply for a 2nd Degree license, you must commit to organizing at least 4 events within a span of 12 months after your license gets approved. Your 2nd Degree License allows you to organize paid events. For every paid event that your organize, you have to organize a free event. With your second degree license you can organize:

  • Regular Incitement events (free and fee-based),
  • Regular University events (free and fee-based),
  • Gatherings (free)

You can only apply for a 2nd Degree Incitement License if you have successfully organized 3 (three) events under the 1st Degree License.

Commissions & Earnings

If you are organizing fee-based events you will receive 90% of the proceeds, 10% of the gross sales should be paid as royalties to The Incitement. This excludes taxes, which should be paid by the Incitement organizer.

Attendees

There is no maximum to the number of attendees you can have at your Incitement Event if you are approved for a 2nd Degree License.

Length

Your Incitement Event may not exceed 1 (one) day in length.

Fundraising/ crowdfunding

You are allowed to raise funds for your event via www.ProjectPie.io only. You can only raise a maximum of 5,000 (Five Thousand) US Dollars.

Team

It is recommended for your team to be all volunteers, as Incitement strives to grow individuals through its events. However, your team does not have to exist entirely of volunteers. You may hire people to be a part of your Incitement event team.

The Gathering

Your 2nd Degree License allows you to organize as many Gatherings before your Incitement event and after your Incitement event. Click here to know more about The Gathering. The same rules, regulations, and guidelines apply on all Gathering events.

Commitment requirements

2nd Degree License holders are required to organize a minimum of 4 events within the time span of a year. The year begins once their application for a 2nd Degree License has been accepted.

Admission

You can charge a maximum of 100 USD for your fee-based events. However, for every fee-based event you must organize a free event

Opportunities

After having successfully organized a minimum of 4 events (of which 1 should be a fee-based event), you are eligible to become the official Incitement co-founder of your city. Incitement HQ will get in touch with you when this happens.
