The Gathering is a smaller event where you get the Incitement team and audience come together, under an informal setting, to talk about a topic that has the same theme as your Incitement Event. You should try to invite some of the most inspirational people you know, you could even get one of the speakers at your event to come.
The Gathering is a meetup designed to get the Incitement team, audience and speakers together to interact and socialize in an informal setting. Organizers of The Gathering should set a topic which is in line with their Incitement event. The Gathering can be organized before the main Incitement Event, so it will lead up to the Incitement event. It can also be organized after the Incitement event, so it will act as a follow-up to the Incitement event.
The purpose of The Gathering is to maintain continuity inside your community. What better build-up or outcome of your event than regular meetups to keep motivated? The Gathering strives to create an intimate environment, and stimulates dialogue between all participants.
The name of your gathering should be The Gathering by Incitement(EventName).
You may have a maximum of 2 speakers to talk about subjects related to your Incitement event. Each speaker can speak for about a maximum of 15 minutes. After both the speakers finish, you may have a Question and Answer session which should last for no longer than 20 minutes. The main reason behind this is to make The Gathering as interactive as possible for the attendees and get them to speak and learn from one another instead of just listening to the speakers.
You can your organize The Gathering anywhere from a restaurant to a coffee shop where your attendees can chat over a cup of coffee. The Gathering is designed to be a very informal event and fun, so never organize The Gathering in a setting that can be deemed formal.
You can organize The Gathering before your Incitement event. The theme of your gathering should be the same as that of your event. This will act as a lead-up to your event and get your audience excited for your main Incitement Event.
You can also organize The Gathering after your Incitement event. This can act as a follow up to your event where you get people together to discuss how they were impacted by the speakers at the event, and is great way to allow for deeper discussion in regards to the topics talked about by your speakers to, for example, discuss and create tangible social impact.
